FBS operates on the "empty chair" philosophy. Some companies would call this an "open door" policy, but anyone who has been to our stores know that there are no doors. Our wide-open concept puts everyone from file clerks to owners out in front of our customers. Any customer, employee, or vendor that wants to talk has an empty chair available in which to do so.

The concept was started by the founders and carries on to this day. Many builders have learned the ups and downs of the lumber market while munching a breakfast of coffee and popcorn with the owners and managers at any one of our stores. Access to the people who run the company is important to our customers. It is equally important to our employees. It is a part of who we are.
