Franklin Building
Supply is committed to the communities in which we live. Here are a
few of the important projects we are involved in. We encourage you
to take a stand, get involved, and help us make our communities even
better!

Franklin Building Supply is sponsoring an exhibit for the Boise
WaterShed Environmental Education Center called Waterfall of
Heroes. As visitors walk into the facility, they will be greeted
with a 7’ tall computerized waterfall that will sound like running
water and will project their image into the waterfall. This image
is a reminder to guests that we are all stewards of water. Logos
of all organizations sponsoring the WaterShed project will be
illuminated on the waterfall as well.
The purpose of this exhibit is to help raise awareness of what a precious resource water is. We
live in a desert where water supplies are limited and the quality of
our ground and surface water is at risk from people who don’t
understand how their actions impact the environment. People often
waste water as if we have an unlimited supply. The solution is
education. To teach people to use water more efficiently and to
teach them how to keep ground and surface water free from pollution
by adopting environmentally responsible behaviors. People often
learn more effectively when offered an interactive, hands on and
entertaining style of education. Many schools will use this
facility as a resource.
The center will be open to the public and is located at the Boise
Wastewater Treatment Facility off Joplin Road.

The Coats for Kids Foundation was established in January 2004 as a
public, charitable foundation by Paul and Cheryl Darby of
Alexandria, VA. It received IRS recognition as a 501(c)(3) in March
2004. The Coats for Kids Foundation mission is “to ensure that
every child who needs a winter coat receives a new one.”

The
Franklin team feels great pride in the home they helped build for
the Stephens family. For 24 Saturdays and several weekdays, a
different team of volunteers gathered at the job site ready to lend
a hand. Many left with new skills, some gained new friends and all
left with warm hearts. We gained more from this experience than we
anticipated and we all enjoyed watching the progression of the
home. We are thrilled for Brenda and Adrien and hope that they
love their home for many years.

Fall is a beautiful time of year in the city of trees, the
multi-colored leaves are a sight to behold. During late fall, the
city of trees turns into the city of leaves. These leaves pose a
problem for many seniors and disabled residents who are unable to
rake and bag them.
