FRANKLIN BUILDING SUPPLY ANNOUNCES NEW GENERAL MANAGER AND REGIONAL MANAGER OF POCATELLO AND MCCALL

BOISE, ID – Franklin Building Supply announced today that Danny Green has been named the new General Manager of the company’s Pocatello location and Bryce Luker as the new Regional Manager. It was also announced that Ben Thomas has been named the new General Manager of the company’s McCall location and Ken Leavitt as the new Regional Manager, effective January 1st, 2016.

Green has been with Franklin Building Supply since 2003 where he started out as an Outside Salesman. For the past several years prior to being named General Manager, Green served as Sales Manager in Pocatello. Before coming to Franklin, Green started as an Inside Salesman at BMC West and predecessors in 1976. He stayed with the company for almost 28 years and did everything in between before ending his career with them as an Outside Salesman. His favorite part about working at Franklin is the customers, some of which he has worked with for forty years. He also feels a great sense of satisfaction being involved in coaching and mentoring employees as they learn and grow in their work process. Green is deeply involved in Franklin Building Supply’s safety program and has been pleased to see it expand and develop over the past three years. In addition he has enjoyed being a member of Franklin’s Leadership Training program. As part of the Franklin Leadership Training, he has been involved with the multi-location education committee helping to make training decisions for the FLT program. In his free time, you can find Green running, hiking and mountain biking and spending time in the outdoor splendor of beautiful Idaho.

Luker started his career with Franklin Building Supply as General Manager of the Burley location in 2002 and helped open Franklin’s Pocatello location in 2003. Prior to starting his career at Franklin Building Supply, Luker worked at Anderson Lumber for 12 years. During this time he attended and graduated from Idaho State University in 1996. He enjoys every aspect of working with customers, from professional builders building large projects to helping homeowners build their own decks. In addition, he enjoys mentoring and helping other Franklin employees grow in their job knowledge and skills. Luker is a proud member of Franklin Building Supply’s Safety Committee and also serves on Franklin’s Board of Directors. Outside of work, you can find Luker spending time with his wife and four children. His favorite activities include fly-fishing, bird hunting and camping.

Before being named General Manager, Thomas served as Operations Manager for Franklin Building Supply’s McCall location and has been with the company for 11 years. He started his career with Franklin working in the yard and making deliveries. He has mentioned that one of his greatest thrills working for the company thus far has been helping his customers get their materials when they need them, and where they need them. In addition to McCall’s customers, Thomas also enjoys working with the other employees and interacting with everyone from every department, every day. He serves on Franklin’s Safety Committee and has taken an active role in teaching and training employees. Learning what makes others tick and seeing an employee’s face light up when they learn something new really makes his day. Thomas grew up on a farm and spent most of his time as an outdoor adventure guide and generally loves being outside. He takes his family hiking, biking, canoeing, snowmobiling, and camping whenever he gets the chance. Thomas really enjoys living in McCall and feels very fortunate to have a great career in such a beautiful place.

Leavitt has worked in the building industry since 1979, and has been working for Franklin Building Supply’s McCall location since 1990. In addition he is a proud member of Franklin’s Board of Directors. Prior to Franklin Building Supply, Leavitt worked for Boise Cascade for several years before moving on to manage an independently owned building supply company in Northern Nevada, specializing in both commercial and residential building materials. Before being named Regional Manager, Leavitt served as the McCall location’s General Manager and was not afraid to get his hands dirty. Despite being a manager, it was not uncommon to find him loading lumber, operating a forklift or working the sales counter. Outside of work Leavitt enjoys doing anything that has to do with the outdoors, especially exploring the Idaho backcountry wilderness. His favorite activities include hiking, riding his mules, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and driving his side by side.
